SHANE HITS 1000!!!!
Congratulations to Mr Shane
Heal who recently scored his 1000th point with the Sydney Kings!
Shane and these damn techs...
Although
Shane is famous for his fiery play (and thats why we love him) the referees
don't seem to understand that they are meant to let his temper go.. not
tech foul him sooo much!
please
help save players like shane from these awful calls here.
Shane
vs Woman From Hell!
Shanus
featured on Catch Phrase - Celebrity Battle of the Sexes.
His opposition
was Kerri-Anne Cheating Kennerly, who decided that she liked to guess the
answers 20 times before they actually whispered the real answer to her,
and gave her all the points.
The final
score showed that Channel 9 employees seem to win... yeah... right.. as
if we'd believe that the bimbo from Midday would be able to beat God in
a fair game... of anything.
I thought
Shane was going to complain to the ref at a few stages in the game.. but
luckily he didn't swear and didn't get fined!!
Maybe
Johnny Boy has the hots for Kerri-Anne... he even said once "Did we stall
it long enough for you?? Not that theres any favouritism here!"
YEAH RIGHT!
The score
was Shanus- 590 and Kerri- 1310.
Well...
no matter what the score said... YOU'RE STILL GOD!!! =)
HAIL SIR
SHANE.
Suspended
and fined.
Referree
Allan Godden reported the Legendary Shane for abusive language after the
game against Brisbane Bullets.
As
Shane walked off the court and said something that the ref didn't like,
after the Kings lost by 9 to Brisbane.
Ken
Madsen was the tribunal officer, who hit God with a $400 fine and a one
game suspension, after Shanus pleaded guilty to the charge.
Go
easy on the "Lets Get Physical" motto, and be nice and smile Shaney! =)
After
months and months of waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting some more,
and then hoping and hoping that Shane Heal would decide he'd had enough
of the Timberwolves bench, our dreams came true! The whole
of Australia smiled, and the sky shined blue again and Sydney was ecstatic.....
SHANE HEAL IS COMING HOME! yay!!

Injured
I
can't help but feel somewhat responsible for the injury to Shane's ankle
that ruled him out of the preseason... I think I have jinxed him...
My axolotls
had babies, and only 2 survived... I called the big dopey one Shaq, and
the little nice one Shane. One day I was looking at them, and I noticed
that Shane only had 3 legs. That afternoon the news was on and on came
Shane Heal talking about his sore ankle that will rule him out of the entire
pre-season.. but there is some good news!! On the 18th of January 1998
my Shane grew another leg!! I hope this means that Shane Heals ankle will
be fixed REALLY soon!!!

The
Kings games
Everyone
has heard all the bad reports about the Kings and how 'once again they
won't live up to their preseason promise of making it to the play-offs'.
And
so what if our favourite players don't win every game? Who cares? Isn't
the whole idea of a game to have fun and if you are just watching enjoy
it? Hands up all those people who don't enjoy watching the Kings
play!!
just
what i thought.. i didn't see any hands!
The
Kings won their game against North Melbourne last night while wearing teeny
tiny short shorts.
Since
everyone here is a Kings fan I think we should know that if we keep believing
in the Kings, they will do us proud.
so.....

THE
SHORT SHORTS....
The
NBL seems to think that all women are sex crazed maniacs who would only
go to a basketball game and enjoy it if the players were all wearing shorts
the length from 20 years ago... so as a joint celebration of 20 years of
NBL and an attention getter our very own Sydney Kings wore the shorts of
long long ago..
Personally
I don't think basketball is about how you look... but if it means more
Kings fans.. then go right ahead and wear those ugly (but very funny!)
shorts!
THE
KINGS BEAT LAST YEARS PREMIERS!
In
a spectacular game Sydney beat Melbourne Tigers 119-115 at the Kingdome
on the 22-4-1998. Shane and Kelsey high scored with 30 points each (shane
with a tech and intentional foul to add to that) and Shane kept Gaze to
35 points... which when you consider the size difference is a pretty damn
good achievement!
Lets
hope that was a preview of the Grandfinal!!
Lets
go Sydney! Lets go!!
JACKSON
INJURY
Import
Stephen Jackson is injured with a broken bone in his foot, so will be out
for quite some time. The Kings have decided to call in Brian Caver from
America.
He
is a 195 cm guard/forward, and played for Seton Hall College.
Bill
Tomlinson is not really happy about signing a player without ever seeing
them play, but there isn't very much choice for the Kings.
Nover
not performing
Import
Matt Nover is only averaging 6 rebounds a game. In the preseason he was
playing about 7 million times better... but now the season has started
he has slipped.
GO
THE KINGS!
??Kings
on a Mighty Roll???
Their
Royal Majesties have been winning their way to the top!
Their
stats are 3-0 Win - with hopefully another 2 on the way this weekend!
So
far The Canberra Cannons, Melbourne Tigers and Newcastle Falcons have bowed
down to our kings and this weekend so will the Adelaide 36ers and Brisbane
Bullets!
After
saying all that... the kings record is now 3-3... not anywhere near as
good as a week ago,
They
lost 116-105 to the Perth Wildcats at the Kingdome (which is a bit of a
bummer because a win would have been nice to show Alan Black what he is
missing out on)
They
lost to the Brisbane Bullets 109-100 and that was the game that Shane got
reported for.
They
lost to the 36ers by 19 points but not to worry... its just a trick! trust
me!!
LETS
GO KINGS LETS GO! BOOM BOOM!! =)
SHANE
VS GAZE!
In a
nail biting game the Kings came home 93-92 against the 1997 season winners
the Melbourn e Tigers,
With
1.7 seconds to go and the Kings down by 1, Coach Bill Tomlinson called
a time out so that Shane could be set up for a trey!
Unfortunately,
someone moved the ring and the ball bounced off... but then Nielsen jumped
from out of nowhere and the ball was in the basket!!
Kings
won the game thanks to nelly and god!

KINGS
PLAY CANBERRA - AND THRASH THEM!
Canberra
was expecting an easy win over our precious Kings after last seasons performance,
but HAHA Shaney led his Kings to a 123-96 win in the first Kings NBL game
of the Season!
God
scored 25 points and Aaron Trahair scored an all time personal record of
35 points and 8 from 10 from the three point line!
God
was magnificent!
Some
how he managed to play both guard and forward, is there anything he can't
do ?!!
Nelly
also played superbly!
The
imports Jackson and Nover, i'm sorry to say, we probably could have done
without... Jackson hardly got any court time and Nover doesn't seem as
big as the reports say! But nevertheless they were still great for the
Kings!
SYDNEY
IS PROUD BOYS! =)
Kings
Game Plan 1998
With
the first championship in quite a number of years on the way, the Sydney
Kings have decided to go for the the new motto: Lets
Get Physical!
Tomlinson
says "We will be carrying a bit of wood onto the court when we play and
we are quite prepared to crack it."
"If
players want to trash talk to Shane he's not going to take it. Neither
will anyone else in this team." "We're 100 per cent behind each other."
Tomlinson
also wants teams to immediatley think of bruises when they think of the
Kings!!
I
think we are in for a pretty good season!

ISSAC
BURTON

After making the decision to let Isaac (ICE) Burton go, Alan Black said
that if Shane Heal ever came home Ice would be the first person he'd call...
woohoo!!... but, because of all the problems with the legal stuff for Ice,
he isn't.
In
the Sunday telegraph, 18/1/98 Ice made a public apology and said that if
any NBL team offered him a job he would take it. I hope the Sydney Kings
can realise that this guy is a great player and take him back.. The Lethal
Weapon would live once again...
Newcastle
Falcons have decided that Ice needs another chance! They will be chosing
between Ice and Enoch Davis as their 2nd import. Fingers crossed for Ice!!!

Kings
People on the coming Season
Shane
Heal:- "Lets face it, we've got a lot of work to do because last year the
Kings were a digrace. They were terrible. But it won't happen
again. All the blokes are really enjoying themselves and like me,
they can't wait to get going." Sunday Telegraph 28/12/97

David
Craig ( Kings chief executive):- "A Sydney Player is someone who
can handle the pressures on and off the court. It is important that our
players have strong minds because, more than anything, thats what counts."
Daily Telegraph 7/12/97

Bill
Tomlinson:- 'Q. What are your expectations for the season of 1998? Can
the Kings win the championship?' "A. Thats what you're aiming for and and
you like to think you can especially at this stage of the year. Luck
plays its role along the way but we're in it to win it and I said that
to the Flames at the start of last season." Daily
Telegraph 3/12/97

DO NOT READ!! IT WILL DAMAGE
YOUR HEALTH!
I don't really want to write
this in... but I suppose I have to.
The Kings weren't the superheros
we know and love them for during a pre-season game at Sutherland Basketball
Stadium tonight.
They were playing Illawara
Hawks and with 8 min 9 sec to go Elliot Hatcher (Hawks guard) and Sir Shane
were involved in an arguement. (We know that this Elliot dude MUST have
started it...) Anyway, Matt Neilson and new import Stephen Jackson got
involved and were both given disqualifying fouls and were kicked out of
the stadium.. oh dear... what are we gonna do..
Anyway, the Kings look like
sure fire winners for the season as their pre season record is 5-1!
They beat the Hawks 128-112.
(so it is pretty obvious that the Hawks started it... I really hope so!)
But as Shane has said before
about his suspension in NBL (96)
".... But now I see the
danger of putting someone like me on a pededstal. The fact is, I'm no angel.
I never was and i never will be. I'm human, and like everyone, I screw
up time to time."
Even though we know it wasn't
his fault.
